Drugstore Makeup Haul - Cheap Buys from Priceline

Hello my geeky friends! Today I was lucky enough to discover that my local drugstore (Priceline) was having a 40% off all cosmetics sale. Since I am extremely tight on money lately, discovering this sale came at a really good time and since I have never done a haul post before I thought this would be a great opportunity.

So, like I said above I have been very tight on money lately so all of the products I purchased were already at the lower part of the money scale BEFORE the 40% discount so I got a total of 7 products for $36.41!! AND I ended up saving $24.48, ANYWAY lets get into what I got.

Savvy Mineral Powder

I have been wanting to invest in a translucent mineral powder for a while but they were always to expensive for me to justify getting so picking one up during this sale was an easy decision. It will be great to keep in my bag for oily skin days when its way to hot for to much foundation!

Bought for $6.00 (saved $4)

It leaves a really nice finish on my skin and since it is translucent it leaves a nice dewy type of colour to my cheeks, love it!

Savvy Black Eyeliner
OK, so this actually isn't the exact eyeliner that I got, but I couldn't find a picture of the one I bought. Mine is just a simple black pencil with a smudger on the back, just a very nice staple to have in the makeup bag and I didn't previously have a smudging tool so it is like a 2 for 1

Bought for $1.80 (Saved: $1.20)

For such a cheap eyeliner pencil I am super impressed with how it works! Sometimes you can buy a eyeliner pencil and it is really hard to draw onto your skin, this one has a nice creamy texture and smudges perfect with the smudging tool!

Essence 'The Lash Curler' Volume & Curl Mascara

I was in need of a new mascara and the one I usually get was WAY to expensive for me at the moment (even with the 40% off) so I went for this one instead. I wanted on which would curl and volumise my lashes, so I have taken a leap of faith with this brand and OMG did it pay off!

Bought for $3.75 (saved $2.70)

This mascara works wonders! From the first coat on my lashes I could see a HUGE difference, and after I finished applying to both of my eyes I could have sworn I had applied fake eyelashes! The consistency is a bit wet so you have to be careful not to smudge it all over your eyes but this stuff is amazing and I definitely recommend it!

Essence Eyeshadow Base

I have wanted to get a eyeshadow primer for ages. I find my eyeshadow slipping all over my face, especially since it is summer here in OZ and hitting the mid 40's is unavoidable (that's degrees Celsius!!). I will be interested to see how this one lasts out in the heat.

Bought for $3.06 (saved $2.04)

Out of all of the products that I bought this one is probably the most disappointing. I'm unsure if it came in different colours but it is soooooo orange that i just stands out from my olive skin tone. I am yet to wear it out in the heat so I cant comment on that yet, but I will be sure to do that when I get the chance to wear it.

Face of Australia Brow Kit

Currently I have been using a brow pencil and eyeshadow to fill in my brows and its OK, although my brows almost always end up shimmering from the eyeshadow and smudging from the powder. I've been looking for a cheap brow kit with wax that will help keep my brows tamed and clean cut!

Bought for $5.67 (saved 3.78)

I wish I had bought more of these! It works amazing! The colour is probably a little dark for what I am after but that doesn't bother me, I only wish I had bought more because I don't think this one will last me very long at all #addictedtofillingmybrows

Face of Australia Black Liquid Eyeliner

I love this liquid eyeliner. It is was the first one that I ever bought myself and I have been missing it ever since my sister stole mine from me. When my sister took this one from me I decided to give the gel liner a go, since people have been raving about it, but it isn't my cut of tea. I'm glad I finally was able to buy this baby again!

Bought for $5.37 (saved $3.58)

Its perfect! That is all.

Rimmel Perfect Match Foundation

This is the foundation that I am currently using, so I thought I would stock up on it whilst it is cheap! I love it because it has some SPF to help protect my skin!

Bought for $10.77 (saved $7.18)

Have any of you guys tried any of these brands or products? what did you think? Let me know what your favorite drugstore makeup is! I love finding new products to use (especially cheap ones) also what did you think of my first haul post?

Thanks for stopping by and reading all of my pastel geeky friends, until next time. X

Diet Tips: Sweet treats using fruits

I love fruit as an alternative to lollies or sweets!

Eating a diet rich in fruits as a part of a healthy diet can help with lowering the risk of heart diseases such as heart attacks and stroke. Most fruits are naturally low in fat, sodium, and calories and ALL fruits and none have cholesterol.
Fiber in fruit can also help with digestion and proper bowel function ;) this will also help with flushing out all those unwanted toxins! As well as that benefit fruits full of fiber help you to feel fuller for longer with little calories!

My New Diet: Tips and Tricks for Weight-loss

Over the last 5 years (since leaving school) I put on a lot of weight. 11kgs to be exact.

I really started packing on the kg's when I moved out of home. I begun drinking alcohol almost every night (I know very bad habit) and of course when you drink you eat.

Considering how bad I ate and drank i'm not really surprised that I put on weight and unfortunately I don't have a very active life style. I don't enjoy exercising and I don't have a gym membership for this exact reason, but I figure it's not impossible to loose weight without exercise.

So the time has come for me to start my diet. I will be making weekly blog posts about it, to keep myself accountable! and posting any new tips or tricks I pick up along the way. I personally get a lot of my inspiration from Asian girls/women. They are always super slender and just generally beautiful (SO JEALOUS) so a lot of my tips and tricks will have an Asian diet inspiration.

Tips and Tricks for Weight-loss

These are all things that I am going to start doing to aid in my weight-loss journey

1. Drink more tea (preferably green or oolong)
Not only will this aid in hydrating your body but you can get so many tasty tea flavours!
Aim to have between 4-6 cups a day, this will help with curbing your cravings as well as increasing your metabolism and giving you lots of antioxidants.
Switching from a fizzy drink to a green tea can save you up to 140cal per glass!!

2. Eat more colourful vegetables

lettuce, sweet potato, zucchini, carrot, cabbage, asparagus, red onion, cucumber, spinach, baby spinach, broccoli, cauliflower- i could go on! Try to make these vegetables the main section of your mean. You can do this by replacing pasta with steamed cabbage or stringed zucchini, or by grating a cauliflower to use instead of rice.

3. 'Hara Hachi Bu'

This is going to be the hardest for me. Hara Hachi Bu is a Japanese saying which means 'eat until you are 80% full'. If your over eat then you are stretching your stomach meaning it will take more to fill it up the next time! Just eat until your feeling content not stuffed.

4. Have fruit as a sweet

Replace sweets such as lollies, ice cream, candy etc. with fruits such as bananas, mangoes, grapes, apricots etc. I have been doing a lot of research and found that there are so many ways you can use fruits to make a yummy sweet treat! I will have to make another post on it because it will take up to much space if I was to do it now!

5. Eat lean proteins
Obviously lean proteins are better for you than their fatty counter parts so stay away from sausages, ready made burger patty's, rissoles etc. I have a lot of information about this so I will be doing another post in a couple of days to give you a lot more information!! but for now I will be sticking to chicken breast and chicken mince (it is some of the leanest source of protein out there and very easy to get a hold of)

6. Switch to unrefined carbs
If you love eating rice - switch to a brown rice, your having bread? - switch to a wholemeal or a rye bread and if you need to have a big bowel of past - change it to a brown pasta. Unrefined carbs are better for us because they are un-processed, keeping in all of the good stuff.

7. Eat lean snacks
Spread some tzaziki dip over some crackers = Yummy!! Make up some jelly and pop some fruit in it to keep in the fridge, have a couple of your favorite nuts/seeds with a cup of your favorite tea, have a cup of soup with a piece of brown bread. Ill make a post about low cal snacks as well.

8. Carry a bottle of water EVERYWHERE
If your out and about and staring to feel a bit hungry, pull out that drink bottle and take a large drink! you might actually be thirsty instead of hungry OR if you are hungry it will satisfy you long enough for you to get home and make your next meal or grab your low carb snack.

These are all things that I will be doing in my weight-loss journey! if you have any questions or worries just post them in the question box and I will reply as soon as I can!
